Millside Cafe on Morris Farm Road in Lafayette made the announcement Sunday on its Facebook page.
“Millside Cafe is sad to announce that we are permanently closed,” reads the post. “We would like to thank all of our customers for their loyalty and making the last five years so enjoyable.”
A Facebook post from Oct. 7 originally stated that the business’ last day open would be Dec. 24 and cited “irreconcilable differences” with the landlord.
It’s not exactly clear why the cafe’s closing date was moved up — however, owners Donna, Ben and Jessie are holding a liquidation sale for excess equipment like ice makers, slicers, outdoor furniture, non-perishable foods and other “miscellaneous restaurant supplies" on Dec. 10, 11 and 12 with snow dates scheduled for Dec. 17, 18 and 19.
“Once again thank you to all that frequented our cafe,” reads the Facebook post. “It will be a memory we will always cherish.”
